Our Story: The Journey to DHEAI

I didn’t just start a school—I built the learning environment I wish more children had access to.

For years, I worked as an educator, interventionist, and advocate for students who learn differently. I saw bright, capable kids struggling in traditional school settings—not because they weren’t smart, but because the system wasn’t designed for them.

I saw:

• Students losing confidence because their unique learning styles weren’t supported

• Families feeling unheard and disconnected from their child’s education

• A rigid system that focused on test scores over creativity, curiosity, and real-world problem-solving

I knew there had to be a better way. That’s why I created Dr. Hayes Educates Academy of Innovation—a place where learning is engaging, flexible, and built around the needs of students and families.

DHEAI is a hybrid, community-based private school designed to give students the best of both worlds—structured in-person learning combined with flexible, independent learning at home.
