HAI FREE FALL K-5 PREVIEW PROGRAM
The HAI Microschool Fall Preview Program is a structured, two-day-a-week enrichment experience designed for students in grades K–5 who thrive in small, collaborative learning environments. This is not a casual co-op or drop-in. It is a focused, skill-based, project-driven program rooted in literacy, math, STEM, and hands-on exploration.
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays | 9:00–11:00 AM
Dates: October 21 – November 20, 2025 (5 weeks)
Enrollment: Maximum 15 students total
WHAT FAMILIES CAN EXPECT
Engaging, hands-on academic instruction
-
Real-world problem solving and creative exploration
-
STEM, literacy, and maker-centered projects
-
Faith-infused character education in a welcoming environment
-
A supportive small-group setting (maximum 15 students total)
At DHEAI, students in grades K–5 learn together in a multi-age classroom model that reflects the one-room schoolhouse philosophy. Instruction is not delivered by grade level. Learners are grouped flexibly based on skill and readiness so each student receives instruction at their individual level of understanding.
During the full launch in the spring, every student will participate in an initial skills assessment to guide personalized instruction and support. This ensures each learner is challenged and supported appropriately.

LEADERSHIP & PHILOSOPHY
The HAI microschool model is grounded in The HAYES Method, an innovative instructional framework that integrates structured literacy, conceptual math, and project-based learning within a faith-infused, multi-age learning community. This approach ensures that every student receives personalized instruction designed to meet them at their level of understanding while cultivating critical thinking, collaboration, and a love of learning.
The program is led by Dr. Alisha Hayes, Ed.D., an experienced PreK–12 educator, administrator, curriculum specialist, reading specialist, and educational diagnostician with more than 20 years of service in public, private, and alternative education settings. Dr. Hayes brings deep expertise in literacy instruction, executive function development, curriculum design, and differentiated learning. Her work is guided by the belief that every child deserves access to rigorous, personalized, and joyful learning experiences.
