Hayes Academy of Innovation
A small, multi-age microschool designed for curious learners and intentional families.
Hayes Academy of Innovation (HAI) is a K–5 microschool built on a modern one-room schoolhouse model. We serve homeschool families seeking a joyful, hands-on learning community without the pressure of full-day, five-day school.
Students attend two full learning days per week in a mixed-age classroom where academic learning, creativity, STEM, and real-life skills are woven together throughout the day.
This is school — just designed differently.

WHO WE ARE
Hayes Academy of Innovation (HAI) is a faith-infused, non-denominational Christian learning community created to support homeschool families through thoughtful instruction, enrichment, and guidance. We operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit program of Dr. Hayes Educates and use a studio-based learning model that provides meaningful academic support without the demands of full-day school enrollment.
HAI is a Category IV Church-Related School in the State of Tennessee and is affiliated with the Tennessee Association of Church-Related Schools, allowing us to offer K–12 homeschool umbrella enrollment with required compliance oversight and recordkeeping for Tennessee families.
Our instructional offerings are intentionally part-time and focused, including learning labs, small-group studios, and seasonal enrichment experiences. Families remain in charge of their homeschool journey outside of enrolled sessions, preserving flexibility, autonomy, and balance.
Our faith is reflected through character education, integrity, respect for others, and service, guiding how we teach, learn, and support one another, and anchored in the scripture:
“Let your light so shine before others…” — Matthew 5:16
Meet Dr. Alisha Hayes
Educational Specialist & Diagnostician
Welcome to Hayes Academy of Innovation.
I created HAI because families deserve more than rigid systems and limited options. After years working in classrooms, leadership, and private practice, I saw a growing need for flexible academic support, meaningful hands-on enrichment, and honest guidance for families navigating educational choices.
Every program, class, and session at Hayes Academy of Innovation is intentionally designed to meet learners where they are — academically, emotionally, and developmentally.
This is not about fitting children into a model.
It’s about building support around the child.
— Dr. Alisha Hayes, Ed.D.
