K-12 EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS & DIAGNOSTICS
Data-Driven • Legally Grounded •

Our comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations combine standardized assessments, structured observations, and instructional analysis to build a clear picture of how your child learns. We identify learning strengths and challenges in areas such as reading (including dyslexia), math (including dyscalculia), written expression, attention and executive function skills, giftedness, and other academic needs. While we do not diagnose ADHD, autism, or other psychological or mental health conditions, our evaluations provide families with actionable insights and personalized recommendations to guide support at school, at home, and beyond.

Purpose of
Diagnostic Testing

IMG_3224.jpg

Our evaluations are designed to go far beyond screeners.
They are used to:

  • Identify root causes of academic, processing, or executive functioning challenges.

  • Establish diagnostic impressions aligned with federal IDEA regulations, Section 504, and private school accommodation protocols.

  • Provide legal-ready documentation that supports advocacy, placement, or service planning.

  • Inform targeted, research-based interventions — not just labels.

Each report is written in plain language for families, yet meets the rigor expected in multidisciplinary team meetings and private placement applications.

Please Note: *A psychoeducational evaluation focuses on identifying learning patterns, academic strengths and challenges, processing skills, and instructional needs for educational planning and accommodations, whereas a psychological evaluation is a clinical assessment conducted by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist to diagnose mental health or medical conditions.

What We Assess — Full Learning Profile Analysis

Our psychoeducational evaluations measure across cognitive, academic, processing, and executive function domains:

What An Evaluation Can Reveal

A comprehensive evaluation may uncover:

  • Performance significantly below, at, or above grade level in core domains.

  • Processing profiles (verbal, visual, sequential, global) that impact learning.

  • Executive functioning signatures that mirror or co-occur with ADHD.

  • Twice-exceptional (2e) patterns — giftedness combined with learning differences.

  • Academic enrichment or remediation needs for instruction and placement.

  • Eligibility pathways for IEPs, 504 Plans, private school accommodation plans, or gifted programming.

PLEASE NOTE: *We do not provide medical diagnoses for ADHD, but we assess EF patterns that inform clinical or educational planning. When needed, we collaborate with licensed medical professionals for wraparound care.

Diagnostic Impressions and
Educational Relevance

Our assessments support evidence-based identification and planning for:
• Specific Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia)
• Executive function and attention-related patterns often associated with ADHD (educational in scope — not a medical diagnosis)
• Developmental or academic skill gaps
• Giftedness and twice-exceptional (2e) learning profiles
• Language-based processing differences
• Acceleration or enrichment recommendations
• Evidence for IEP/504 or private placement support

Reports are actionable. Every recommendation connects directly to structured literacy, conceptual math, and evidence-based executive function strategies to support students in public, private, and homeschool settings.

  3. Student Assessment Sessions — typically 2–3 sessions, tailored pacing

  4. Scoring & Clinical Interpretation — multiple norm-referenced tools

  5. Comprehensive Report — plain language + legal/academic alignment

  6. Results Meeting — 1:1 walkthrough with actionable next steps

  7. Optional Support — referrals, tutoring, advocacy, enrichment

Legal & Instructional Applications

Our evaluations are frequently used to:
• Support IEP and 504 eligibility meetings
• Document learning differences for private school placement
• Guide targeted intervention planning (RTI/MTSS, Orton–Gillingham, executive function coaching)
• Inform gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) placement decisions
• Provide families with legally sound documentation for College Board or ACT accommodations

Compliance Statement: All evaluations are conducted in accordance with IDEA §300.502 (Independent Educational Evaluation), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Tennessee private school protocols. Reports are structured to meet both educational and legal documentation standards.
