
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Hayes Academy of Innovation is a course-based academic program designed for students who benefit from structured, focused instruction in a smaller learning environment.
Students enroll in specific courses rather than attending a traditional full-day program. Each course meets once per week and is designed to build strong academic skills through research-based instruction, guided practice, and real-time feedback.

COURSE STRUCTURE
Each class follows a consistent, structured flow designed to maximize focus, engagement, and skill development.

H – Opening (5–10 minutes)
Students begin with a focused warm-up to activate prior knowledge and prepare for the lesson. -
A – Direct Instruction (15–20 minutes)
New concepts are introduced through clear, explicit teaching with modeling and guided examples. -
Y – Guided Practice (20–25 minutes)
Students work through problems or tasks with support, discussion, and real-time feedback. -
E – Application (15–20 minutes)
Students apply skills independently through reading, writing, or problem-solving activities. -
S – Reflection & Close (5 minutes)
Students review learning, clarify understanding, and reflect on their progress.

HOME SUPPORT

Families may continue using their own curriculum and resources at home.

Each week, students receive a simple home guide with suggested practice and strategies to reinforce what is taught during sessions.

There is no required homework or online coursework.

The home guide is designed to provide optional support without overwhelming students or families.
COHORT MODEL

Students learn in structured cohorts designed to support consistency, engagement, and academic growth.

Cohorts are organized using grade band spans:

K–2, 3–5, 6-8 ,and 9-12, allowing students to learn alongside peers within a similar developmental range.

This mixed-age structure supports collaboration, confidence-building, and differentiated instruction, while still allowing for targeted skill development and real-time feedback.

Tuition is billed monthly through Sawyer and is automatically drafted on the 1st of each month.
Academic course enrollment is a semester commitment to support consistency and student progress.
Students attend based on the courses they are enrolled in.
